Sizing Flex Boots
Flex Hoof Boots are available in several sizes suitable from miniature ponies to horses. Sizes 80-105 are called FlexPony boots and sizes 110-150 are FlexHorse boots. There are two boot styles: classic and wide boots. “W” at the end of the size indicates that the boot is a wide style. Classic boots are 10mm longer than wide, whereas wide boots are the same width and length measurement. Classic boots fit oval hooves, and wide boots are better suited for naturally round, slightly more upright hooves.
Our boot measurements are taken from the inside of the boot shell, so it’s easy to compare them directly to your hoof measurements. Hooves should be measured shortly after a fresh trim.
If the hoof measurements are exactly at the upper limit of the boot measurements, and the horse has large heel bulbs, it is advisable to choose either the next size up, or a custom boot.
Measure the length from the toe backwards. Put the zero at the edge of the toe, and measure straight back along the centre of the hoof. Measure to the back edge of the heels.

Measure the width from the widest part of the hoof, with the tape measure perpendicular to the centre line of the hoof.

Now, compare the hoof measurement to this Flex Hoof Boot size chart.

Flex Boots fit a variety of different hoof shapes, provided the hoof is maintained in its anatomically correct shape. When choosing boots, the hoof shape and condition affect the fit just as much as the hoof measurements do.
